Volunteer Work Day

There will be a volunteer work day in the City of Ojai Community Demonstration Garden on Saturday, April 17th at 9:30. Come see what's growing on — plus get some exercise, meet people and have fun working to help maintain our beautiful community garden. shedWeb2.jpg
Stay as long as you like. There is something for everyone, and no experience is necessary. There's plenty to do, so come join us! The garden is located at 401 South Ventura St., behind City Hall. Seed you there! Photo by Les Dublin.

"Eating Weeds" is the cover/featured article of Edible Ojai & Ventura County's Spring 2010 issue.

My favorite weed, Miner's lettuce, was the first to be written up - it's also a favorite of the author's 4-year-old daughter, who does not much care for veggies.

I've seen it growing in the Demo Garden but I would never again pick it there because the Ojai Public Works deparment sprayed (and still does spray?) without giving notice.

In all, the qualities of eleven edible "weeds" were covered.

Free copies are available around town. And today I will leave a copy at the Ojai Public Library.

Nice Post. It’s really very good article. I am really apreciated to share it with us. Thanks!!
