Twenty people learned heaps of information about composting today with Master Gardener Jessica Craven in the City of Ojai Community Demonstration Garden.
The compost made at last December's compost workshop was put to good use, as Jessica demonstrated how to sift finished compost with a little help from a volunteer.
The emptied bin was filled with layers of freshly cut grass, dried leaves, manure, kitchen scraps and sifted material from the previous compost pile.
Participants had a chance to see, touch and smell the finished compost, so they'll know when their own compost is ready to be put to work in their gardens.
