Compost Workshop
Come to this free, hands-on workshop with Master Gardener Jessica Craven to learn how to make compost like a pro and turn your kitchen and yard waste into a valuable soil amendment that your plants will love.
If possible, to help us make compost, please bring a bag of fruit and vegetable peelings. The workshop will take place rain or shine on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 10:00 AM, in the City of Ojai Community Demonstration Garden, 401 South Ventura Street, behind Ojai City Hall.
When the golden berries ripen to red, they provide a tasty treat for the birds.
This native shrub most likely owes its common names, California Holly and Christmas Berry, to its red berries and finely toothed leaves.
We are especially grateful to the many dedicated volunteers who have worked so hard to create and care for the garden over the years, from the novice weeders to the experts who teach our workshops. Thank you, Ojai, for your support!
