Coyote bush (Baccharis) is an interesting heat and drought tolerant native plant with angular branches that blooms in summer.

I don't have the kiosk map in front of me, but I would say that the coyote bush is between the ground cover area and the culinary herb garden.

I adore the new perpective you did to this subject matter. Certainly wasn't expecting that when I started off reading. Your suggestions were simple to understand that I wondered why on earth I never considered it before.
